Nikki Camlin is an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Mississippi. Her research focuses on phosphatase regulation of cell signaling pathways, particularly during M-Phase of meiosis and mitosis. Errors in these processes are linked to trisomy, infertility, miscarriage, and cancer. She holds a PhD (2017) and BS (2012) from The University of Newcastle.
Research interests include molecular biology, reproduction, oocyte meiosis, and phosphatases (PP1). Her work explores mechanisms of protein phosphorylation's role in cellular processes, with implications for health and disease.
Publications highlight studies on PP1 activity oscillations in oocyte meiosis (Cell Cycle, 2023) and auxin-based protein depletion methods in oocytes (Biology of Reproduction, 2019). Her lab is located at Johnson Science Tower (JST) 514, Hattiesburg.
