معرفی
Niina Junno is a seismologist and researcher at the Department of Geosciences and Geography, University of Helsinki, Finland. Her work focuses on seismology, geophysics, and geological data integration for hazard analysis and mineral exploration. She actively contributes to research infrastructure development, particularly through the Finnish mobile seismic instrument pool (FINSIP) and EPOS Finland initiatives. Junno’s collaborations span academia, industry, and government projects, including induced seismic risk mitigation in urban environments.
Research Interests: Seismology, geophysics, geological modeling, seismic hazard analysis, and mineral exploration. Her studies often involve data fusion from seismological and geological sources, structural modeling of ore-bearing intrusions, and development of seismic instrumentation networks.
Scientific Awards:
- Best Poster Award (2017)
Advising: Supervised the Bachelor's thesis of Saga Ranttila (2023). Participated in thesis supervision for other Master's and Licentiate works.
Key Projects: Scientific coordinator for EPOS Finland (2025–2027), project manager for 3D lithological modeling (Kevitsa), and contributor to the SEISMIC RISK project. She also manages datasets and data infrastructure for national seismic hazard delineation.
