Nihat ŞİRECİ is a Professor of Chemistry Education at Adıyaman University's Faculty of Education, Department of Basic Education. He holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Inonu University (2003). His academic journey includes roles as Research Assistant (1995-2003), Dr. Ar. Asst. (2003-2007), Associate Professor (2007-2021), and Professor (2021–present). He has led the Department of Basic Education since 2019 and previously held administrative roles such as Deputy Dean (2013–2015) and department chair positions.

Research Interests: Focuses on organic synthesis, catalysis, and heterocyclic compounds. Key areas include:

- Microwave-assisted organic reactions
- Applications in pharmaceutical and agricultural chemicals

- Investigation of catalytic effects of benzimidazole salts in Mizoroki-Heck reactions (2012)
- Development of Pd-NHC complexes for microwave-assisted catalysis (2011)
Teaching: Courses include General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Environmental Education at undergraduate and graduate levels.
