معرفی
Professor Nigel Mottram is a Professor and Head of School in the School of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Glasgow. His research focuses on liquid crystal dynamics, with a particular emphasis on free-surface flows and colloidal systems. He leads collaborative projects involving institutions like the University of Strathclyde and Nottingham Trent University, leveraging grants from the EPSRC. His work integrates mathematical modeling with experimental and computational approaches to understand complex fluid behaviors.
Research Interests:
- Free-surface morphologies in anisotropic liquids
- Particle dynamics in liquid crystalline phases
- Applications in industrial coatings and microfluidics
Grants & Collaborations:
- EPSRC Grant (Liquid Crystal Free Surfaces Project)
- EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership
- RSE Network in Nematic-Based Materials
He co-organized the 2023 British Liquid Crystal Society Annual Meeting and the Coagulation-Fragmentation and Liquid Crystals conference honoring Professor Iain Stewart. His research team includes prominent collaborators like Prof. Stephen Wilson (Strathclyde) and Dr. Oliver Henrich (Strathclyde).
