Geoff McKay is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics within the Faculty of Science at the University of Strathclyde. He has been a key academic figure since 1994, progressing from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer in 2004, and currently holds the title of Senior Teaching Fellow. His role includes teaching across multiple levels, from Foundation Mathematics to Complex Analysis, and he serves as the Year 3 Coordinator for undergraduate degree programs.
His research focuses on the mathematical modelling of liquid crystals and non-Newtonian fluids. Specific interests include dynamic continuum theories for nematic and cholesteric liquid crystals, flows in porous media, and prosthetic socket design.
