Nigel E. Hussey is a Professor in Biological Sciences at the University of Windsor, leading the Hussey Lab focused on movement and trophic ecology in aquatic ecosystems. His research examines how climate change, human disturbance, and exotic species introductions affect animal behavior, biodiversity, and ecosystem structure through integrative frameworks.
The lab’s work addresses three core themes: (1) quantifying movement patterns of aquatic organisms, (2) analyzing species interactions shaping ecosystems, and (3) assessing climate/human impacts on biodiversity. Recent projects include acoustic tracking of Greenland halibut in the Canadian Arctic to inform fisheries management.
