Nigel Dennis

Nigel Dennis is a Professor in Air Transport at the University of Westminster, where he has served since 1988 following his PhD on hub-and-spoke networks with British Airways. He coordinates the Department's Air Transport activities and maintains extensive external engagements including fellowships with AirNeth and the Higher Education Academy, membership in the Transportation Research Board's Aviation Economics Committee, and active participation in the Air Transport Research Society.

His research spans airline economics, network analysis, scheduling systems, and transport forecasting, with particular expertise in hub operations, low-cost carrier dynamics, and transatlantic market evolution. Current projects address post-pandemic connectivity restoration and UK-Europe route restructuring, building on decades of industry collaborations with British Airways, Ryanair, DHL, and government bodies like the UK Department of Trade and Industry.

Dennis has supervised multiple PhD students to completion including Frances Kremarik (North Atlantic markets) and currently supervises Sugandhi Jayaraman (airport digitization).
