Niels Olaf Angermüller

Niels Olaf Angermüller serves as Professor for Financial Management at Harz University of Applied Sciences within the School of Business and Economics. Previously, he worked as a research assistant and coordinator at the Center for Globalization and Europeanization of the Economy at Goettingen University before transitioning to industry roles in international financial services.

His educational credentials include an MBA and PhD in International Finance from Goettingen University, with additional studies completed at Nottingham Business School in the UK.

Professor Angermüller's research encompasses critical areas in modern finance:

• Basel IV regulations and financial supervisory frameworks
• Financial market dynamics and crisis prevention mechanisms
• International finance systems and cross-border banking
• Internal audit methodologies in both public institutions and financial sectors
• Synergies between risk management and controlling functions

He maintains active roles in the Risk Management Association, German Institute for Internal Audit (DIIR), and International Controller Association. Notably, he serves on the admission board for Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification in Germany and holds certification as an Accredited Examiner for Internal Audit Systems.

Beyond his primary position, he regularly lectures at the Private University of Goettingen and has served as an external examiner at Trinity College Dublin.
