Niels Nijdam

Niels Nijdam is a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Geneva, where he directs the Information Security Group (I-Sec) under the Research Institute for Statistics and Information Science (RISIS). He earned his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Geneva, working at MIRALab.

His research spans collaborative systems, distributed networking, cybersecurity, Internet of Things, autonomous vehicles, and smart cities, with a focus on privacy and security. He has contributed to medical imaging (MRI), avatar systems, and blockchain applications for IoT security.

Recent publications address threat analysis for connected vehicles, lightweight cryptographic protocols, and trusted computing in embedded systems. His work emphasizes practical security frameworks and interdisciplinary approaches to risk assessment.
