Niels Hannibal

Niels Hannibal is an Associate Professor at the Department of Communication and Psychology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Aalborg University. Since 1995, he has conducted clinical music therapy research at the Music Therapy Research Center in Psychiatry (MUFiP), a collaboration between Aalborg University and Aalborg University Hospital Psychiatry. He has taught music therapy at bachelor's, master's, and PhD levels since 1995 and 2011 respectively.

His current research investigates patient experiences with music therapy for depression and therapeutic alliance mechanisms. He leads the MTTM project (2020-2027) and serves as administrative head of MUFiP since 2021.
