Nidhi Goel

Nidhi Goel, MD, MHS is an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, with a primary appointment in the Department of Medicine and a secondary appointment in Pediatrics. As a teaching hospitalist, she practices in both adult and pediatric care, while also serving as the Deputy Director for Quality and Safety in the Department of Medicine and a Physician Advisor for the University of Maryland Medical Center.

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Cultural Anthropology (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor), Master of Health Science (Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health), MD (University of Maryland School of Medicine), and residency in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics (University of Maryland Medical Center).

Her research focuses on patient safety and quality improvement in academic healthcare settings, particularly in areas like clinical denials, patient throughput, regulatory compliance, and infection control. She has contributed to initiatives such as the Antimicrobial Sub-Group of P&T, Sepsis Work Group, and Project RESCUE Work Group.

Dr. Goel actively engages in institutional committees, including the House Advisory program, Women in Medicine mentorship program, and Medical Education Continuous Quality Improvement Committee, with a focus on unconscious bias training and just culture implementation.
