معرفی
Dr. Nidhi Garg is an Associate Professor in the Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney, specializing in neurology and neuromuscular disorders. Her research focuses on inflammatory neuropathies, autoimmune mechanisms in neurological diseases, and motor neuron disorders such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). She has contributed to understanding the pathophysiology of conditions like chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), multifocal motor neuropathy, and anti-MAG neuropathy through electrophysiological and immunological studies. Additionally, her work explores clinical assessment methodologies in medical education, particularly during exit-level medical school objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs).
Her research has been supported by grants including the Australian CIDP National Registry project (2022), which investigates phenotypes and immunoglobulin usage in neuropathic patients. She collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to advance diagnostic techniques and treatment strategies for peripheral nerve disorders. Key findings include insights into conduction block mechanisms, autoantibody roles in nodal/paranodal dysfunction, and the importance of axonal loss in motor neuron diseases.
Led by her clinical expertise, Dr. Garg’s work bridges basic science and clinical practice, aiming to improve diagnostic accuracy and therapeutic outcomes for patients with complex neurological conditions. Her publications span high-impact journals in neurology, immunology, and medical education, reflecting her dual commitment to scientific discovery and healthcare training.
