Nidal Abu-Zahra is a Professor and Department Chair of Materials Science & Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) within the College of Engineering & Applied Science. His research focuses on water treatment technologies, including developing filtration media, polymer foams, and membranes for heavy metal removal and lithium extraction from seawater using antibiofouling properties. He employs experimental and computational methods (Molecular Dynamics, Density Functional Theory) to advance material design.
Education: PhD in Industrial Engineering (Cleveland State University, 1996), MS in Mechanical Engineering (University of Manchester, 1994), BS in Mechanical Engineering (University of Jordan, 1992).
