Nida Bangash

Nida Bangash is a Professor of Foundation Studies at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), holding the position since Fall 2023. She has held diverse academic roles, including Adjunct Faculty at the University of North Texas (2022–23) and Texas Woman’s University (2022), and served as Curator at the Heard Natural Science and Wildlife Sanctuary (2022–23). Her previous appointments include roles as Assistant Professor and Coordinator at the National College of Arts, Lahore (2012–13), and Lecturer and Coordinator at the National College of Arts, Rawalpindi (2009–11).

Education includes an M.F.A. in Art from Southern Methodist University and a B.F.A. in Fine Art from the National College of Art. Her research and creative practice focus on socio-cultural narratives, contemporary art, and cross-cultural expression through mediums like installation and mixed media. Notable themes in her work explore identity, political contexts, and historical memory, evident in exhibitions such as War Rugs with Love and Eternal Recurrence.

Her accolades include the Charles Wallace Scholarship (The Prince's School of Arts, London), Haji Shareef Award (National College of Arts), and Nasher Microgrant. She has been affiliated with institutions like the Dallas Museum of Art and the SANAT Initiative, contributing to exhibitions and curatorial projects globally.

Nida’s academic contributions extend to coordinating programs in visual arts and mentoring students across institutions. Her exhibitions span solo and group shows in Pakistan, the U.S., Australia, and the U.K., reflecting her international engagement with contemporary art discourse.
