Nicole Wu is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto (St. George campus) and the University of Hong Kong, with affiliations at the Princeton University and University of Michigan. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Michigan, where she also earned an MA, and a BSSc from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
- Research Focus: Explores the political consequences of technological change and China's economic ascent, particularly automation anxiety, globalization blame displacement, and labor market dynamics.
- Fieldwork: Conducted extensive interviews and surveys in 76 Chinese factories across 19 cities, analyzing automation drivers and worker responses.
Teaching: Awarded for excellence in international relations, comparative politics, and research methods at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Courses include Globalization, Automation, and Labor and Comparative Political Economy of Advanced Economies.
