Nicole Weydmann serves as Professor of Qualitative Methods at Furtwangen University since 2022, leading interdisciplinary research at the intersection of planetary health, climate change impacts, and transformative social practices. Her work bridges academic theory with real-world environmental and health challenges through innovative qualitative methodologies.

Professor Weydmann specializes in Grounded Theory, Ethnography, and Qualitative Content Analysis applied to critical contemporary issues. Her research examines mental health impacts of climate change on forest communities, develops art-based interventions for environmental crises, and explores multi-perspective health concepts in forest ecosystems. Current projects address planetary health implementation in education and healthcare disparities among migrant populations.
She actively leads multiple externally funded initiatives including Black Forest mental health studies (2024), forest health negotiation frameworks with Baden-Württemberg's Ministry (2024-2025), European migrant youth health research (2024-2025), and Interreg-funded Art-Based Resonance Labs (2024-2025). As co-editor of the 'Teaching Qualitative Methods' debate in Forum Qualitative Social Research and coordinator of the interdisciplinary teaching network for qualitative methods, she shapes methodological discourse while contributing to the Institute for Qualitative Social Research in Freiburg.
