معرفی
Prof. Nicole Richter is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neotectonics and Geohazards at RWTH Aachen University, holding the Junior Professorship for Remote Sensing of Natural Hazards. Her research focuses on active volcanic systems, satellite geodesy for volcanic deformation monitoring, and lava flow modeling. She leads projects in over 20 countries, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to natural hazard assessment.
Her work integrates remote sensing techniques like InSAR and TLS with field studies to understand volcanic processes, tectonic activity, and earthquake geology. She collaborates with the Natural Hazards Group (NUG), which includes 15 researchers working on geohazards such as tsunamis and seismic risks.
Key research themes include magmatic activity monitoring, volcanic eruption dynamics, and geophysical data interpretation. Her publications highlight innovations in hazard modeling and deformation analysis, with global fieldwork in regions like Greece, La Réunion, and Cabo Verde.
Advising and grants: Supervises doctoral students and research assistants, contributing to international hazard mitigation efforts. Labs/teams: Part of the NUG, specializing in remote sensing and field-based hazard research.
