Dr. Nicole Renehan is an Assistant Professor in Criminology at the Department of Sociology, Durham University. Her research focuses on domestic abuse perpetrator interventions, neurodivergence in criminal justice, and practitioner well-being. She teaches modules on violence and abuse at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Nicole’s research explores how domestic abuse interventions can better address neurodiverse populations (autistic/ADHD men), victim-survivor safety, and practitioner challenges. Her publications highlight trends in domestic violence policy, neurodivergent inclusion, and the intersection of criminal justice with mental health. She emphasizes individualized approaches over standardized cognitive-behavioral models.
