Nicole M. Yang

Nicole M. Yang (she/her) is a Lecturer in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, affiliated with the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS) and the Sociology & Anthropology department. She also teaches Sociology and Diversity Studies in the Wisconsin Technical College System.

• Ph.D. in Anthropology and Southeast Asian Studies from University of Wisconsin-Madison

Her research focuses on the Hmong diaspora, combining ethnographic and historical methodologies. She explores themes including identity, kinship, marginalized communities, refugees, and social change, with a particular interest in folklore, religion, and belief systems.

Nicole works as the Manager of Access, Equity, and Inclusion at Lakeshore Technical College, complementing her academic roles with practical applications of diversity and inclusion initiatives.
