Nicole M. Nielsen

Nicole M. Nielsen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions, Creighton University. Her academic role focuses on advancing pharmacotherapy education and clinical practice, particularly in ambulatory care settings. She holds expertise in dermatology, diabetes management, and innovative educational methodologies such as team-based learning and virtual escape rooms.

Nielsen holds a PharmD degree and is a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP), along with certifications in Advanced Pharmacy Practice (APh) and Medical Education in Health Professions (MEHP).

Her research interests span dermatological pharmacotherapy, diabetes therapeutic strategies, and improving educational outcomes through active learning techniques. She has contributed to case-based learning resources in atopic dermatitis and explored the use of innovative teaching tools to enhance student engagement and proficiency.
