Nicole Limperopulos is a Lecturer at Bank Street College, where she teaches courses in transformational change, qualitative research, and racial literacy. She co-directs the Programs in Education Leadership, supporting external and competency-based programs. Prior to Bank Street, she was the associate director of the Principals Academy at Teachers College, Columbia University, leading it to national accreditation and overseeing the graduation of 700 aspiring leaders from 65 U.S. cities. Before higher education, she taught high school history in Harlem and the South Bronx.
Research Interests: Her work focuses on gun violence in urban schools and communities, centering the lived experiences of boys of color. She employs qualitative methodologies to elevate youth voices and inform educational leadership practices that address trauma and systemic inequities. Additional interests include care-focused leadership and racial literacy in educational settings.
Publications and Presentations: Notable works include analyses of chronic violence exposure among urban youth and underachievement among boys of color, alongside conference presentations on equity in principal preparation programs and leadership strategies for urban schools. Her research bridges interdisciplinary perspectives on violence exposure with educational leadership frameworks.
