Nicole Kelley is an Associate Professor of Religion at Florida State University's Department of Religion (College of Arts and Sciences). She joined the faculty in 2003 and holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University. Her research focuses on Christian apocryphal literature, ancient disability studies, and religiously influenced folk medical theories in the Mediterranean world.
Her notable work includes the book Knowledge and Religious Authority in the Pseudo-Clementines, which repositions the Recognitions as a key text reflecting late antique Syrian religious competition. Current research involves Augustine of Hippo's views on fetal personhood and Christian medical thought.
Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses on ancient Mediterranean religions and the history of Christianity. Office located in Dodd Hall 211.
