Nicole Holt

Dr. Nicole Holt serves as Senior Lecturer in Public Health and Wellbeing at Canterbury Christ Church University's School of Allied and Public Health Professions. With prior experience in local government, charity sector, and care industry roles, she concurrently acts as academic Link Tutor for LSC (leading their revalidation proposal) and recruitment lead for the Public Health team.

Her Public Health research spans spirituality, social prescribing, and pet therapy, with notable projects including therapy dogs in courtroom settings, support systems for former Jehovah's Witnesses, and the relationship between natural environments and spiritual health. She investigates religious coping strategies across populations and factors influencing Occupational Therapy students' readiness through team leadership.

Dr. Holt founded the 'Passion in Public Health' podcast and leads research collaborations with national charities and academic partners. Her awards include:

She has received annual Golden Apple Award nominations since joining the university and serves as Research Supervisor for graduate students.
