Nicole Hauch

Nicole Hauch serves as an Associate Professor at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD), where she has been a core faculty member since 2014. She actively engages with MIAD's Communication Design program, Pre-College initiatives, Future Designers programs, and co-leads the institutional MIAD Type Union.

Her academic foundation includes a BFA in Communication Design from MIAD with a year of international study at Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany, followed by an MFA in Design concentrating on Innovation Studies with a minor in Cultural Anthropology from the University of North Texas.

Hauch's professional practice centers on brand and identity development across diverse sectors, evidenced by her client portfolio including Accutech Security, Popcare+, Buell, Wisconsin Polarity, and PEARLS for Teen Girls. Her educational philosophy emphasizes active student participation, cultivating enduring curiosity, and nurturing individual design methodologies within Communication Design, Brand Identity, and Typography frameworks.

She founded the Tourette Education & Support Group in Franklin, Wisconsin (2021) and extends her expertise through workshops and lectures for institutions including the University School of Milwaukee, Ronald Reagan IB High School, and Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin, building on prior experience as Project Manager for Discovery World and designer for University of North Texas Art Galleries.
