Nicole Ferdinand

Dr Nicole Ferdinand is Associate Dean for Postgraduate Studies at the Oxford Brookes Business School, leading academic strategy and operational management for postgraduate programs. She holds a PhD and multiple advanced qualifications, including FHEA (Fellow of the Higher Education Academy). Her research focuses on tourism and event management intersections with globalization, technology, and social issues like race, gender, and disability. She has 15+ years of teaching experience in hospitality, tourism, and events, previously serving as Senior Lecturer at Bournemouth University and London Metropolitan University.

Research highlights include studies on Notting Hill Carnival's internationalization, electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) impacts, and pandemic-era tourism misinformation. Her work emphasizes practical impact, with contributions to policy (e.g., Trinidad and Tobago Carnival resourcing), media commentary on racism in sports, and public lectures at institutions like the Victoria and Albert Museum.
