Nicole Champagne is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and an Associate Professor of Public Health at the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences, University of Massachusetts Lowell. Her expertise spans Public Health, with a focus on Service Learning, Professional Preparation in Health Education, and Workplace Wellness. She holds a PhD in Service Learning in Health Education (Columbia University, 2004), an MS in Health Promotion (Bridgewater State College, 1992), and a BS in Biology (Stonehill College, 1989).
Her research emphasizes Service Learning, Job Stress, and Worksite Wellness, particularly in addressing chronic disease risk factors among lower-income workers. She has led studies on workplace conditions, participatory health interventions, and the integration of technology in health promotion.
Dr. Champagne has received numerous teaching awards, including the Outstanding Faculty Designation (2011), Haskell Award for Distinguished Teaching (2004), and multiple Teaching Excellence Awards. She has secured grants as a principal or co-investigator for projects on workplace stress, health disparities, and e-portfolios in health education assessment.
Her professional contributions include roles in interprofessional education, faculty development, and community health initiatives. She has presented widely on topics such as workplace stress reduction, participatory health research, and service learning in health education curricula.
