Nicole Bobbette

Dr. Nicole Bobbette is an Assistant Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Therapy at Queen's University, within the Faculty of Health Sciences. She holds an Affiliate Scientist position at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health's Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre (2021-2025). Her academic background includes a PhD in Rehabilitation Science, MSc in Occupational Therapy, and BAH in English Language & Literature & Psychology.

Her research focuses on supporting adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD), emphasizing interprofessional primary care models, inclusive research methodologies, and health service delivery improvements. Key areas include: 1) optimizing team-based primary care for IDD populations, 2) advancing clinician education on IDD healthcare needs, 3) fostering participatory research with IDD individuals and their care-partners, and 4) promoting mental well-being in developmental services sectors.

Recent work explores telehealth innovations (e.g., Project ECHO-AIDD), caregiver support systems, and policy implications around productivity-based wages. Her studies often involve mixed-methods approaches to address systemic barriers in healthcare access and service provision. Current affiliations include the International Centre for the Advancement of Community Based Rehabilitation and Queen's University research institutes.
