Nicolas Sabouret is a Professor of Computer Science at Université Paris-Saclay and an academic at CentraleSupélec. He directs the Computer Sciences Graduate School at Université Paris-Saclay and conducts research at the Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Digital Science (LISN), which is affiliated with Université Paris-Saclay, CNRS, CentraleSupélec, and Inria. His career spans teaching, research in artificial intelligence and affective computing, and leadership in academic administration.
His research focuses on artificial intelligence and human-machine relationships, particularly in multi-agent systems and affective computing. Projects like the European TARDIS initiative (2010–2013) for virtual agent interview simulations and SMACH with EDF for energy consumption modeling showcase his work. He emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, bridging psychology and computer science at LISN.
A passionate educator, Sabouret teaches algorithmics, programming, databases, and AI to students of all levels. He co-authored the public outreach book Comprendre l’intelligence artificielle (Understanding Artificial Intelligence) and participates in events like the Science Festival to inspire future scientists. His administrative roles include directing graduate programs and shaping computer science education at Université Paris-Saclay.
