Nicolas Rollet is a Lecturer at Telecom ParisTech within the Economic and Social Sciences (SES) department. He holds a PhD in Language Sciences (2012) from Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3 and an earlier thesis in chemistry (2011). His research focuses on interaction studies, conversation analysis, and social robotics, with applications in medical contexts, emergency communication, and human-robot interaction.
He leads the Interaction, Technology, Activity (Interact) research team and is part of the Interdisciplinary Institute of Innovation (i3). Key projects include the APHA 114 initiative analyzing emergency interactions for aphasia accessibility, and contributions to the Encyclopédie de la parole collective since 2007, blending academic research with artistic performances.
His work spans multimodal studies in medical settings (e.g., prenatal ultrasounds, emergency calls) and explores how technical devices integrate into social activities. Recent conferences include presentations on video calls for aphasia accessibility and trust dynamics in human-robot interactions. He teaches interactionist sociology and coordinates Human Training courses at Telecom Paris.
