معرفی
Nicolas Dumont is an Associate Professor at the School of Rehabilitation, University of Montreal, and a researcher at the Azrieli Research Centre of CHU Sainte-Justine. His work focuses on muscle stem cells and their role in muscular dystrophies, particularly Duchenne muscular dystrophy. He explores how inflammation and bioactive lipids influence muscle regeneration. His lab develops translational therapies targeting muscle stem cells to treat neuromuscular diseases.
- Affiliations: Azrieli Research Centre at CHU Sainte-Justine, Department of Pharmacology and Physiology.
- Recruits students and postdocs for projects on muscle stem cells and myopathies.
Research Interests: His lab investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying muscle regeneration deficits in dystrophies, leveraging techniques like transcriptomics and 3D modeling. Key areas include pro-resolving mediators' therapeutic potential and fibrosis modulation.
Awards: André-Dupont Prize (2024), IRSC Postdoctoral Fellowship (2013-2016), and FRSQ scholarships. His work is supported by grants from IRSC, CRSNG, and other national and international bodies.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Muscle Stem Cell Laboratory (MuSCL), focusing on neuromuscular physiopathology. Collaborates on projects involving 3D bioprinting and iPSC-derived therapies.
