Nicola Pavoni is a Full Professor of Economics at Bocconi University, where he also serves as the Program Director for the PhD in Economics and Finance. Previously, he was a Professor of Economics at University College London (UCL). He is a Research Fellow at IGIER and Co-Editor of the Journal of the European Economic Association.

Research Interests: Pavoni's research spans several core areas of economics including macroeconomic theory, economics of information, consumption theory, labor economics, and public finance. His work often explores the intersection of theoretical modeling and policy-relevant questions, particularly in the context of inequality, taxation, and household decision-making.
His recent work has focused on belief formation, educational choices, and the political implications of economic shocks, especially how ambiguity and reference-dependent preferences affect individual and collective behavior.
Publications: His scholarly output has appeared in top-tier journals such as Econometrica, American Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Monetary Economics, and International Economic Review.
Editorial and Administrative Roles: In addition to his editorial role at the Journal of the European Economic Association, Pavoni is actively involved in academic leadership, including directing the PhD program in Economics and Finance at Bocconi.
