Dr. Nicola Cortinovis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economic Geography at Utrecht University's Faculty of Geosciences. His research focuses on regional economic performance, industrial dynamics, and the role of knowledge spillovers in shaping regional development. He explores topics such as smart specialization, green innovation, and the impact of multinational enterprises on local economies.

- Teaching: Courses include Geographies of Multinationals, Location in a Globalized World, and Methods for Economic Geography.
Research interests span institutional drivers of regional diversification, the relationship between spatial structure and productivity, and the application of AI in research data processing.
