Professor Nicola Barker is a legal scholar specializing in constitutional and family law with a feminist theoretical framework. She holds a professorial position and currently teaches modules on Family Law (LAW316) and Socio-Legal Theory (LAW550). Her research focuses on critiques of marriage and conjugality, constitutional law in Bermuda, and human rights, particularly LGBTQ+ rights in British Overseas Territories. She was awarded the Hart/SLSA Book Prize for her monograph *Not the Marrying Kind* and a British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship (2018-2019) to critique the UK's Human Rights Act. She contributed to UNWomen's report on marriage and led the Bermuda Constitution Project, advocating reforms based on public consultation.
