Nico J. Dam

Nico J. Dam is an Associate Professor and Chair of Laser Diagnostics for Combustion in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His expertise spans optics, lasers, spectroscopy, and fuel technology. He holds a PhD in Experimental Molecular Physics from Radboud University Nijmegen and has worked at institutions including EPFL (Lausanne, CH) and TU/e since 2008.

His work addresses sustainable energy challenges via advanced optical diagnostics in combustion systems, contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goals on clean energy and climate action. He has supervised 68 students and authored over 126 publications, including influential studies on diesel engine diagnostics and plasma reactors.
