Nicky Didicher is a University Lecturer in the Department of English at Simon Fraser University (SFU), promoted from Senior Lecturer in 2018. She specializes in 18th-century British literature, children’s literature, and pedagogical innovation. Her teaching focuses on learning-centered approaches, incorporating mindfulness practices and experiential learning. She holds a BA from the University of Guelph and an MA and PhD from Queen’s University. Didicher has received the Lesley Cormick Award for teaching excellence and has led workshops on course design and teaching methodologies. Her research includes mindfulness in education, ungrading, and decolonizing curricula. She has mentored students in publishing projects with SFU’s Public Knowledge Project and contributed to initiatives like the Engl387 Library Project. Didicher is retiring in August 2025 after 34 years of teaching.

- Lesley B. Cormick Award for Excellence in Teaching (2010)
- Teaching and Learning Development Grant (ISTLD) for mindfulness study (2017)
Advising & Grants: Co-led the Re-Thinking Course Design Workshop, contributed to the Senate Committee for University Teaching and Learning, and mentored students in publishing projects. Her mindfulness study demonstrated reduced student stress levels in high- and low-stress courses.
Labs/Teams: Collaborated with SFU’s Public Knowledge Project on student-led publishing initiatives, including Pope-ular Analysis and graphic novel anthologies. Led the Engl387 Library Project to improve SFU’s Curriculum Collection with diverse and controversial texts.
