Nicky Beer is a Professor in the Department of English at the University of Colorado Denver, specializing in Creative Writing, 20th/21st Century Poetry, LGBTQ Literature, Poetics, Poetry in Translation, and Literary Editing. She is the author of three acclaimed poetry collections: Real Phonies and Genuine Fakes (2022), The Octopus Game (2015), and The Diminishing House (2010), all of which won the Colorado Book Award for Poetry. As a poetry editor for Copper Nickel, she contributes to the literary community's critical discourse.
