Nicklas Håkansson is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication (JMG) at the University of Gothenburg. He holds a doctorate in Political Science from the same university and has been employed there since 2011.

His research focuses on political communication, particularly political language/rhetoric and propaganda, at the intersection of democratic theory and media studies. Recent projects include the mediatization of political accountability over four decades and a century-long analysis of Swedish election posters.
