Nick van der Meijs is an Associate Professor at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), affiliated with the Department of Micro Electronics and Computer Engineering under the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS). He serves as the Director of Studies for Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering programs and leads research on parasitic effect modeling in integrated circuits.
Research Interests include deep-submicron VLSI design, efficient algorithms for electronic design automation (EDA), and physical/electrical effects extraction in nanoelectronic systems. His work focuses on practical EDA tools like the SPACE layout-to-circuit extraction system.
Scientific Awards:
- NWO Pionier grant (1993) for pioneering research in IC modeling
Teaching: He designs and teaches courses from undergraduate to graduate levels, including:
- Introduction to Integrated Circuit Design (BSc)
- Introduction to Electronic Design Automation (MSc)
- Digital VLSI Design (MSc)
Notable Collaborations: Co-developed the SPACE system with Arjan van Genderen; supervised research projects like Modern, Cobra, and Chamelon-RF.
