Nick Worthington is a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Management at Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham. He also holds a Senior Lecturer position at the University of Exeter, where he serves as Programme Director for the MSc Applied Strategic Leadership and Management (Degree Apprenticeship). His academic and professional work bridges higher education, apprenticeship assessment, and public policy.
His research interests focus on strategic decision-making in the public sector, devolution to the third sector, business ethics, sustainable leadership, and governance. He is currently completing a self-funded DBA at the University of Chester with a thesis titled: "Examining the Devolution of Public Sector Bodies to the Third Sector: A Study on UK Strategic Planning and Public Policy". His prior publication on core competencies in public sector outsourcing has been cited in academic literature.
Nick has published one key research work on public sector outsourcing decision-making tools. His research trends center on public administration, strategic management, and organizational transformation, particularly in cross-sectoral contexts involving public, private, and charitable organizations.

He is engaged in academic and public-facing educational initiatives, including volunteer teaching for refugees and broadcasting, reflecting a strong commitment to community engagement and inclusive education.
