معرفی
Dr. Nick Wallerstein is a researcher specializing in Hydrology and Environmental Hydraulics at Wageningen University & Research. His expertise spans physical geography, river dynamics, geomorphology, and hydraulics. He holds a BSc in Geography (1993) and a PhD in fluvial geomorphology (1999) from the University of Nottingham, UK. His research focuses on river-channel interactions, sediment transport, flood risk, and debris dynamics in river systems.
Previously, Wallerstein held roles including lecturer in Civil Engineering at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (2006–2009), postdoctoral researcher at the University of Nottingham (1999–2001) studying sediment transport, and a position at Heriot Watt University (2001–2003) investigating debris accumulation at infrastructure. His work integrates field studies and laboratory flume experiments, with past sponsorship from US Army Corps of Engineers and USDA.
At Wageningen, he teaches courses such as Geophysical Fluid Mechanics, River Flow and Morphology, and Research Methods for Marine Sciences. His research emphasizes practical applications in river engineering and environmental management.
