Nick Fox is a Professor of Neurology at the UCL Institute of Neurology, serving as Joint Head of the Department of Degenerative Disease and Director of the Dementia Research Centre. He holds concurrent roles as Group Leader at the UK Dementia Research Institute (2018-2019 as Associate Director) and Honorary Consultant Neurologist at The National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery. His academic leadership includes roles since 2005, with recognition as an NIHR Senior Investigator (Emeritus).
His research focuses on Alzheimer's disease biomarkers, familial forms of dementia, and neuroimaging techniques. Notable contributions include developing MRI-based methods for tracking cerebral atrophy and pioneering blood-based biomarker studies for early disease detection.
