Nicholas Zaferatos

Nicholas Zaferatos is a Professor of Urban Planning and Sustainable Development at the College of the Environment, Western Washington University (WWU). He directs the Urban Planning and Sustainable Development program and co-leads the Sustainable Design minor. His professional experience spans over 40 years, including roles as director of tribal planning agencies and CEO of an international sustainability nonprofit. His research focuses on Native American sovereignty, Mediterranean sustainable development, and urban policy.
