Nicholas Wood is an Associate Professor and Sub-Dean (Postgraduate Research) in the Discipline of Child and Adolescent Health at the University of Sydney. He holds an NHMRC Career Development Fellowship and leads the NSW Immunisation Specialist Service and the Immunisation Adverse Events Clinic at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. His research focuses on maternal and neonatal vaccination, vaccine safety, and adverse events.
His research interests include maternal and neonatal immunisation strategies, vaccine adverse event analysis, and the genetic factors influencing vaccine responses. He is a key member of the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre and the Brain and Mind Centre, contributing to interdisciplinary research initiatives.
Recent publications highlight his work on pertussis vaccine efficacy, respiratory virus epidemiology, and BCG vaccination outcomes in healthcare workers. Over 150 peer-reviewed articles reflect his contributions to paediatric infectious diseases and immunisation strategies.
