Nicholas Montemarano is an Alumni Professor of Creative Writing and Belles Lettres at Franklin & Marshall College, where he has served as Professor of English since 2002. His teaching emphasizes close reading, writing practice, and creating safe spaces for creative risk-taking.

Montemarano's work explores family dynamics, political scandals, and existential themes through nonlinear narrative structures. His memoir in verse If There Are Any Heavens (2022) examines personal loss, while The Senator's Children (2017) and The Book of Why (2013) delve into public disgrace and spiritual disillusionment.
