Nicholas George

Nicholas George is the Joseph C. Wilson Professor of Electronic Imaging at the University of Rochester, where he holds concurrent professorships in Optics and Electrical and Computer Engineering. He has also served as director of the University of Rochester's Institute of Optics and as founding director of the Center for Electronic Imaging Systems and the ARO-URI Center for Opto-Electronic Research.

• Education: BS (University of California at Berkeley), MS (University of Maryland), PhD (California Institute of Technology in electrical engineering and physics).

His research focuses on Electronic Imaging Systems and Physical Optics Imaging, with a particular emphasis on the development and application of imaging technologies. He has supervised 40 doctoral students as principal thesis advisor and currently mentors eight PhD scholars.
