Marvin M. Doyley is the Wilson Professor of Electronic Imaging and Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Rochester, with joint appointments in Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Sciences. He holds PhD and postdoctoral training from the Institute of Cancer Research (University of London Imperial College) and Erasmus University/Dartmouth College. His research focuses on non-invasive vascular elastography, high-frequency nonlinear ultrasound imaging, and cancer imaging. He is a Fellow of IEEE, AIUM, AIMBE, and AAIA, and serves on editorial boards of top journals like IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics and Physics in Medicine and Biology.
Research Interests: Therapeutic/diagnostic imaging using optical/MRI/ultrasound techniques, with emphasis on pancreatic/colorectal cancer imaging. Innovations include elastography for tissue stiffness quantification and viscoelastic properties analysis. His work spans clinical translation of imaging technologies like photoacoustic and shear wave elastography.
Publications (2024–2020) highlight advancements in shear wave attenuation measurements, brain stiffness pulsation detection, and AI-driven MRI analysis. Collaborations involve institutions like Dartmouth College and Erasmus University. Awards reflect contributions to medical imaging and biomedical engineering.
