Nicholas Foster is an Assistant Instructional Professor in Chicago Studies at the University of Chicago. He holds a PhD in US history from the University of Chicago (2023). His research focuses on the history of capitalism in 20th-century America, intellectual history, and the societal and cultural implications of financialization in US politics and society.
His doctoral dissertation, *Country on Fire: The Virtuous Producer in the Era of Finance Capitalism*, examines the intersection of economic ideologies and societal structures during periods of financial dominance. Foster's work bridges historical analysis with contemporary debates about economic systems and their sociopolitical consequences.
