Dr. Nicholas Beuret is a Lecturer in Management and Marketing at the University of Essex's Essex Business School (EBS). His research focuses on climate change politics, environmental governance, degrowth, and commons organizing. He holds a BA from the University of Newcastle (Australia) and a PhD from the University of Leicester (UK). Dr. Beuret’s work explores the low-carbon economy transition, climate migration, and green capitalism critiques. He has supervised multiple PhD students, including Haneen Mohammad Yousef Yassin (awarded 2025) and James David Fox (2023).
Teaching includes modules on sustainability, political economy, and the social economy. He participates in research initiatives like the Centre for Commons Organising and external projects such as The Institute for Commons. His grants include the Innovate to Elevate Project (2023) and Colchester Borough Council’s Climate Emergency Action Plan (2021). Academic support hours are listed on EBS Moodle pages.
