Nicholas Battaglia is an Associate Professor in the Department of Astronomy at Cornell University's College of Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on observational cosmology, specifically fundamental physics, the epoch of reionization, and galaxy evolution. He specializes in analyzing large-scale structure and secondary anisotropies in the cosmic microwave background, particularly the thermal and kinetic Sunyaev-Zeldovich effects.
Professor Battaglia is involved with major astronomical experiments including the Atacama Cosmology Telescope, CCAT-prime, and the Simons Observatory. His work aims to extract astrophysical and cosmological information from observational data to understand matter distribution and galaxy formation.
