Niamat Hossain

Dr. Niamat Hossain is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering Management at Arkansas State University (A-State). He holds a PhD in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Mississippi State University (2020), an MBA in Management Information Systems from the University of Dhaka (2013), and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (2010). His research focuses on Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Systems Engineering, and Resilience Analytics, with applications in Cyber-Physical Systems, Supply Chain Management, and Sustainable Manufacturing.

Dr. Hossain has held prior roles as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Temple University and a Post-Doctoral Research Scientist at Raspet Flight Research Laboratory. He has collaborated with the FAA, NSF, and DOD on projects addressing critical infrastructure resilience, logistics optimization, and systems simulation. His industry experience includes roles as a Senior Engineer at Caterpillar Bangladesh and Systems Engineer at Energypac Power Generation Ltd.

His research interests include applying Bayesian Networks, System Dynamics, and Network Theory to complex systems challenges. Notable projects involve disaster management, healthcare resilience, and smart energy systems. He has received prestigious awards such as the IISE Innovation Design Best Paper Award and the NSF Travel Grant.
